Update 01/12/2021
The City of Celina is in partnership with Collin County to assist in the COVID-19 vaccine registration. Yesterday, the Collin County Commissioners Court voted to contract with the private company, Curative, to set up vaccination mega-sites in the county. The location(s) for the Mega Center(s) has not been determined. Multiple locations are being evaluated. Once we know the location sites, we will pass that information along.
As of January 12, 2021, Collin County does not have any vaccines to distribute. Celina residents are encouraged to check with their family doctors for vaccine availability. Additionally, the county has set up a vaccine waitlist for Groups 1A and 1B where you can register to receive the vaccine. At this time, only Collin County residents who meet the Texas Department of State Health Services Phase 1A and 1B categories are eligible to add themselves to the waitlist. Phase 1A refers to first-line responders. Phase 1B refers to people over the age of 65 or people with underlying health conditions. The online registration form will take requests in the order received and let the registrant know where they are in line for the vaccine. The county will notify when vaccines become available and schedule appointments.
