Requirements

The following conditions must be met in order to be considered for the position

Education

High School Diploma or GED

Certification and Other Requirements:

Texas Commission on Fire Protection Firefighter (Structural) Certification

Texas Department of State Health Services EMT Certification or License

*Note – Minimum Certifications MUST be met by time of employment offer

Other Minimum Requirements:

Must be registered with the US selective service

Applicant must be at least 21 years of age

Must successfully complete all pre-employment testing/screenings

Must obtain a Texas Class B driver’s license within first six (6) months of employment

 Preferred Qualifications:

Applicants that are both certified firefighters AND paramedics (certified from the Texas Department of State Health Services).

Prior experience with a career fire department

Accrues at 4.615 hours per pay period (initial employment)
