Compliance Dismissals

Some offenses can be dismissed by showing proof of compliance and paying a $20.00 dismissal fee.

These offenses are:

  • Expired Inspection (if not expired more than 60 days), if expired more than 60 days, defendant must pay the fine and cost
  • Expired Registration (if not expired more than 60 days), if expired more than 60 days, you must pay late registration fee to the Registration Office and provide proof to the court within 20 business days from the citation date or the appearance date whichever is later
  • Failure to change Address on Driver License
  • Expired Driver License

Deferred Disposition

Under certain circumstances, you may qualify for the privilege of deferred disposition to keep a citation off your driving record.

  • The deferral period begins when the court receives the costs.
  • The deferred time frame is 90 to 180 days (length of time is decided upon by the judge), without ANY CONVICTED citations in the City of Celina.
  • This option can be requested in person, in writing by mail or fax.

Drivers under the age of 25 must take a state approved Driver's Safety Course as a stipulation of the Deferral guidelines

You do not qualify for deferred disposition:

If you hold a (CDL) Commercial driver license.
