Another Step for Safety with a Certificate of Occupancy Program Celina has instituted a new program to help assure the
safety of its citizens by requiring buildings to obtain a Certificate
of Occupancy before they are used. A C.O. will be required for all buildings
that will be occupied or used by occupants. A new C.O. will be required
when a tenant leases a new space, a commercial building is built, or a
new home is built. Upon issuance of a C.O. and approval of all required
inspections, utilities will be released in the new tenant's name. The
C.O. contains information concerning the owner or tenant, address of the
building, a description of the portions of the building and the use intended,
building code verifications for the group and classification of the building
or structure, and approval of the Building Official. Among other things,
it allows the fire department to plan for emergencies at the location.

of Occupancy.
