Another Step for Safety with a Certificate of Occupancy Program

Celina has instituted a new program to help assure the safety of its citizens by requiring buildings to obtain a Certificate of Occupancy before they are used. A C.O. will be required for all buildings that will be occupied or used by occupants. A new C.O. will be required when a tenant leases a new space, a commercial building is built, or a new home is built. Upon issuance of a C.O. and approval of all required inspections, utilities will be released in the new tenant's name. The C.O. contains information concerning the owner or tenant, address of the building, a description of the portions of the building and the use intended, building code verifications for the group and classification of the building or structure, and approval of the Building Official. Among other things, it allows the fire department to plan for emergencies at the location. Follow this link for a full description of the Certificate of Occupancy.

About Celina

Celina is a wonderful city that is now experiencing the change from a predominately farming community to an urban city. In doing so, it is maintaining the friendliness and charm that has made it such a wonderful place to live and work. Celina is also known for sports, where for example, the Celina High School Bobcats hold the Texas state record for the most consecutive wins and most state championships.
