Driving Safety Course

A phone call, fax, or email DOES NOT constitute an appearance.
DO NOT TAKE DRIVING SAFETY COURSE WITHOUT OBTAINING PERMISSION FROM THE COURT!
 

If eligible, it is your right to take a Driving Safety Course if requested on or before your initial appearance date.  Your request must be made by CERTIFIED MAIL or in person.  Insufficient requests will be denied.



REQUEST BY CERTIFIED MAIL
:
 

1)     Proof of valid Texas Driver’s License or permit.  (If on active military duty or
      an active duty military spouse or dependant child, you are not required to
      have a valid Texas Driver’s License or permit.)
2)     Proof of Financial Responsibility (Insurance)
3)     Plea of No Contest or Guilty, waiver of Jury Trial 
4)      $109.00 (Check or Money Order payable to Celina Municipal Court)
5)      Sworn Request/Affidavit for Driving Safety Course.  (Request/Affidavit Form)

UPON RECEIPT, THE COURT WILL MAIL (TO THE ADDRESS ON FILE) THE FOLLOWING

       
  • Driver Record Form - TYPE 3A (May be obtained online at texas.gov.)
  • Copy of Order Granting Driving Safety Course

 

REQUEST IN PERSON:

      have a valid Texas Driver’s License or permit.)
2)     Proof of Financial Responsibility (Insurance)
3)     Plea of No Contest or Guilty, waiver of Jury Trial
4)     $109.00 (Check or Money Order payable to Celina Municipal Court; Cash; Visa,
       MasterCard, Discover – 3% convenience fee applies.)
 

(Necessary paperwork will be processed at the clerk window at the time of your request.)

 

PRESENT TO THE COURT WITHIN 90 DAYS (STATED ON ORDER) THE FOLLOWING:



INELIBIGLE:

  • Offense committed in a construction zone, workers present;
  • Traffic offenses committed by a person with a Commercial Driver's License (CDL);
  • Passing a school bus;
  • Leaving the scene of an accident; or
  • Speeding 25 mph or more over the limit or in excess of 95 mph
  • Completed Driving Safety Course for the dismissal of a traffic citation within the 12 months preceding the date of the current offense
