Program Purpose: The creation of a Citizens Police Volunteer Group and a Junior Citizens Police Volunteer Group is consistent with the department’s community policing philosophy and represents a strategic partnership between the community and the police. Moreover, the citizen volunteers will become familiar with the police department’s philosophy, strategies, and policies. These groups will become citizen ambassadors of the police department and foster police community relations. In addition, these groups represent a valuable resource for the department who can represent the police department at special events and assist officers at the department with appropriate assignments. Most importantly, the Junior Citizen volunteers will be able to bond with police officers, develop an understanding of police practices, and develop life skills in serving their community.

Citizens Police Volunteer Group

Junior Citizens Police Volunteer Group

Program Description:

  • Age requirements – Junior Citizen Police Volunteer (13 to 17 years old).
  • Age requirements – Citizens Police Volunteer (18 and above).
  • Other requirements – Listed on the appropriate application form.
  • Training requirements – Listed on the Junior Citizen Volunteer or Citizen Volunteer Training Curriculum document.
  • Citizen Volunteer involvement – Citizen volunteers may assist with age appropriate assignments determined by the department. These assignments may include assisting at the police department or at special events. In addition, special training events and activities may be sponsored by the department. Junior Citizen Volunteers will always be supervised by police personnel or a designated adult Citizen Volunteer.


Celina Police Clergy Group

Program Purpose: The Celina Police Department and the Celina Clergy form a partnership that supports the Celina Police Department and the community through spiritual guidance and ministering. Focused on the mission of achieving a safer community, the partnership is based on community engagement, transparent communication, trust, prayer, and support in crisis situations. Moreover, the Clergy Group will become familiar with the police department’s philosophy, strategies, and policies, allowing the group to serve as a vital link between the police department and the community they both serve.

Program Description:

  • Age requirements – 18 and above.
  • Other requirements – listed on the appropriate application form.
  • Training requirements – listed on the training curriculum document. May participate jointly with the Celina Citizens Police Volunteer Group.
  • Serve as a leader in an established religion.
  • Celina Clergy Group involvement – serve as a communication link between the police department and the community, provide support to victims and their families, bring a sense of calm to crisis situations, support families dealing with tragedy, and offer prayer and support to police officers and their families.
