Today, the National Weather Service out of Fort Worth is predicting that conditions are right in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex area for strong to severe storms to develop this afternoon into the evening hours as the storms move across from the NW to the SE. These storms have the potential to produce very high winds and large, damaging hail. There is also a potential for tornadoes to develop.
Preston Road Scheduled Closures:
TxDOT has scheduled to close sections of Preston Road so that the new southbound lanes may be installed. Beginning June 2nd a small segment will be closed and completed each night for six consecutive nights between 7PM and 6AM. The closure will take place in five manageable segments with a goal of completing one section per night. The final segment is expected to be completed on June 7th. The Celina Area Heritage Association and the City of Celina would like to invite you to "Celebrate Freedom" on Memorial Day.
The event will take place Monday, May 27th, 2013 from 9:00am to 12:00pm on the Historic Downtown Square to honor the military service of the men & women of this nation. The speaker at the event will be Purple Heart recipient Brian Fleming.
